Brian Knauer - "Cairo"
About the artist:
Brian Knauer was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 1, 1971 and was raised in New Jersey. He began painting when he was seven years old, taking group lessons from a woman in his neighborhood. When asked what kind of painting he does today, he responds "abstraction: linear and colorful," as well as figurative paintings based on narratives he creates. His video works are a recent addition to his repertoire, offering a new medium for his keen sense of abstraction, montage and musical soundtracks.
Brian currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife Elizabeth, their dog Ricky, and their recently born son Sorley Read.
